About Me (Transcript)

Hi. If you're here looking around my site then you're probably considering coming to me for an appointment and if you're going to come and tell me all about yourself, then it seems only fair that I should tell you a little bit about me.
I wasn't always Alternative Kim, actually, for the biggest part of my life, I was totally mainstream - my step-father was an accountant and my mum was a physiotherapist and my dad and my step-mother were both dentists. So I was brought up in the mainstream model and I myself became a speech and language therapist. So, what happened I hear you ask! Well, I got endometriosis, for those of you that don't know, that's a women's problem. I went the normal route, I went to see my GP and he referred me to a consultant and I went to see the consultant and I had an exploratory operation and that's when they told me I had endometriosis. And they prescribed some drugs which worked very well in terms of getting rid of the pain, unfortunately though, they had some pretty nasty side effects. So, when I went back, I explained that and they gave me something else to try. When I took that to the chemist, I discovered it was the contraceptive pill which I'd deliberately come off some years before because I was concerned about the side effects of it.
So, I went back and, to be fair, not the consultant, it was his registrar said "We haven't got a magic wand to wave you know, you'd better have a hysterectomy." Well, at that stage I hadn't had any children, so I was a bit upset and I told a friend of mine, my friend Cheryl, about it and she said "Why don't you go and see my homeopath?" I hadn't even heard of homeopathy at that point but I went to see her homeopath and after three or four months all the symptoms had gone and the homeopath said "Oooh, next time you come and see me, you might be pregnant!" and I said "Well, no, we've decided not to try until after Christmas now." And the next time I went to see her I was pregnant.
So, I was really impressed with what homeopathy could do and since seeing the homeopath I've had two healthy children, so, as you might expect, I'm really happy about that. And I did want to do homeopathy myself but I hadn't long trained as a speech and language therapist and I didn't want to waste my training, so I spent eighteen years working as a speech and language therapist and then eventually I trained as a homeopath. And the rest, as they say is history...
Except that after working as a homeopath for a number of years, I was then introduced to EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique. I went to have some sessions for myself and I was absolutely amazed at the impact they had on me. And now, I find that using homeopathy and EFT in combination, produces amazing results for the people that I work with.
So why don't you give it a try?
